Description
Château Le Prieuré Grand Cru Classé de Saint Emilion 2019.
This château has existed since the 16th century, when the vineyard was known as the Premier Cru des Cordeliers. It took on its current name at the beginning of the 20th century. It has been classified as a Saint Emilion Grand Cru Classé since 1955.
The vineyard covers 6.24 hectares, divided into 19 plots that have been certified Ecocert Organic Farming since 2018.
The 2019 vintage is 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc. The wine was matured in 40% new barrels, 50% first wine barrels and 10% second wine barrels.
On the nose, you'll love a very complex bouquet of red fruit and vegetal notes. The palate is full and fresh, the red fruit notes are confirmed and the tannic structure is firm, present but not overpowering. A very fine, classically made St Emilion.
