UBY, a winegrowing estate in south-west France

Uby is a well-known winegrowing estate in south-west France, in Gascony to be precise. The estate was founded by Mr Jean Baumann in 1956, and since then Uby has grown considerably. Today, the estate cultivates 100 hectares of vines on different terroirs in Gascony. Many grape varieties are grown on the estate, including colombard, uni blanc, sauvignon blanc, petit and gros manseng, as well as merlot, cabernet sauvignon and tannat for the red wines. The estate is best known for its Uby n°3, a dry, fruity white, and Uby n°4, a sweeter white.

Introducing UBY N°7

Uby n°7 is a blend of 2 grape varieties, Tannat providing black fruit, tannins and robustness. The second grape variety is Merlot, an emblematic Bordeaux grape variety that brings red fruit and suppleness to the wine, in balance with the Tannat. On the nose, UBY n°7 reveals a wealth of red and black fruit aromas. On the palate, this wine expresses woody notes due to its ageing in oak casks, hints of spices and, above all, flavours of fresh red and black fruit. UBY n°7 is perfect with grilled red meat, tajines, mature cheeses and game.
