La GAULOISE Jaune (Yellow) Herbal liqueur 70cl
This Gauloise Jaune liqueur is mainly composed of the following plants, St. John's wort, saffron, angelica, cardamom, genepi flower and of course other plants which make this liqueur its originality. This recipe is kept secret just as the Chartreux fathers keep the recipe for their Chartreuse Jaune secret.
Description
It was in 1783 that Mr Requier, a liquor expert by trade, found the recipe for this liqueur, legend or reality??? he says he found this recipe in a grimoire dating from the Gaulish era.
This liqueur is now produced by the center distillery not far from Limoges.
This Gauloise Jaune liqueur is mainly composed of the following plants, St. John's wort, saffron, angelica, cardamom, genepi flower and of course other plants which make this liqueur its originality. After double distillation over a wood fire, the pantes essences are blended with brandy and sugar syrup in order to obtain the right balance between roundness and power before starting a long aging process.
You will love her gold yellow dress. the nbez evokes notes of saffron, spices and gray pepper. Citrus notes also follow.
The palate is creamy, it evokes notes of flowers and also offers notes of honey. The finish is particularly long, smooth and slightly spicy, marked by gray pepper and liquorice.
Prestigious distinctions
Among many distinctions in prestigious international competitions (Amsterdam, Brussels, Liège, Milan, London, Glasgow, Vienna (Austria), Saint-Louis (United States), Hanoi, etc.), she obtained the Gold Medal during the Universal Exhibitions of Paris in 1889 (for which the Eiffel Tower was built) and of Lyon in 1894, and was declared Hors Concours during the Universal Exhibition of Paris in 1900.
More recently, in 2018, La Gauloise jaune obtained the Gold Medal at the Concours Général Agricole which took place as part of the Paris International Agricultural Show, a year after La Gauloise verte obtained the Medal there. Silver in 2019.
