Description
This Kyoto Aka-Ori Red Belt Whisky is produced by the Kyoto Miyako distillery in Kyoto. This beautiful mahogany-coloured blended whisky has a nose marked by vanilla, dried fruit and mocha. On the palate, the vanilla notes are confirmed by a combination of toast and spices. The finish is long, with a hint of sweetness.
The Kyoto Miyako distillery in the north-west of the city is ideally located along the river Yura in an area that is sparsely populated and not very suitable for farming. The water is therefore extremely pure. There are two stills in this distillery. They are used in an original way, since each still is specialised, one for the first distillation and the other for the second distillation. The first is an elongated swan-neck still, and the other is stocky and rounded.
