Description
Tasting Talisker 10 year old whisky
This whisky has a golden colour with amber highlights. The nose is powerful, with aromas of smoke, peat, sea spray and a hint of citrus. On the palate, it is smooth and intense, with notes of dried fruit, wisps of wood fire and sweet touches of malted barley. The palate is full-bodied, with peppery aromas in the background. The finish is long, powerful and marked by peat smoke and spices.
Do you know the history of Talisker?
Established in 1830 on the shores of Loch Harpor in Skye, Talisker is the only distillery on the island that continues to produce. Today Talisker has a modern building, but that wasn't always the case, as in 1960 a fire broke out when drops of alcohol leaked from a faulty brass valve. A few remains are still visible on the property. Only the still room was rebuilt identically. As the only distillery on the island, Talisker had to manage by innovating with great ingenuity.
