Glenlivet Founder's Reserve whiskey is a single malt whiskey produced in Scotland from the Speyside region.
Description
Glenlivet Founder's Reserve is a single malt whiskey produced in Scotland from the Speyside region.
This whiskey is from The Glenlivet brand. During his visit to Scotland in 1822, King George IV asked for a glass of Glenlivet. Beyond the quality of this excellent Speyside single malt from the Moray region, it was a political gesture from the king because Glenlivet was the first distillery to leave the underground by acquiring an official license to distill 2 years later. Glenlivet is quickly recognized as the Scottish whiskey par excellence, smooth, complex with notes of biscuits, toffee, wood and exotic fruits. The Glenlivet style has often been copied as Mr Smith registered the trademark in 1876, then multiple legal actions from 4 years later resulted in 1884 in the Glenlivet distillery obtaining the right to call itself The Glenlivet, the unique and real Glenlivet distillery, whiskey from the Livet River valley. Despite everything, other distilleries have retained the right to display the Glenlivet suffix as a guarantee of style and quality, and still today with Glen Spey Glenlivet for example. The Glenlivet is the leading brand of single malts sold in the United States and the 2nd worldwide behind the unbeatable Glenfiddich. The Glenlivet is part of the composition of Chivas Real and Chivas Royal Salute.
Glenlivet Founder's Reserve Speyside Whiskey is a whiskey from Speyside, a region located on the North Sea, in the heart of the Highlands. This region produces around 60% of the volumes of single malts in Scotland, it is the region which has the largest number of distilleries still in operation: around fifty. Everything was organized around the River Spey, the main river which gave its name to the Speyside region. Other rivers flow whose name evokes the distilleries which drink there, we can cite the Livet for Glenlivet, the Fiddich for Glenfiddich, the Deveron for Glen Deveron, they flow into the Gulf of Moray, which gave the Glen Moray. There are some exceptions in the case where peat fire-dried malts have been used, Speyside malt whiskeys are not peated. The common characteristic of Speyside whiskeys is a certain roundness and a lot of elegance.
