Barbados Plantation XO 20th Anniversary Rum
This extraordinary rum was made to celebrate Alexandre Gabriel's 20th year as Master Blender of Plantation Rum. The cuvée is a blend of 8 to 20 year old rums, all from Barbados.
Master distiller Don Benn oversaw the creation of the rum using age-old techniques, a fitting reflection of the island where he created it.
Compared to other Plantation rums, this exotic cuvée has been aged in its country of origin, Barbados, but has also enjoyed the benefits of ageing in Cognac, in the casks originally used by Ferrand Cognac.
The bottle has a capacity of 70 cl and an alcohol content of 40°.
Rhum XO 20 eme Anniversaire, History of the Plantation distillery
The West Indies Rum Distillery was founded in 1893 by two German brothers. It was sold in 1903 to Barbadian interests. Today it is owned by Goddard Enterprise Ltd, based in the Barbadian capital, Bridgetown.
It is based primarily on the production of bulk rum, but also manufactures its own brands such as Cockspur.
