Description

The history of Baie des Trésors

The Bay of Treasures is located on Caravelle Island in Martinique. The treasure is not to be found in a shipwreck in the depths of a lagoon. The real treasure, however, is the sugar cane fields on the higher ground, offering a magnificent view over the bay. Organised into small plots, where sugar cane has been grown for over a century.

Tasting of Baie Des Trésors Rhum Agricole de Martinique Fleurs de Vent

This rum comes from this tiny corner of paradise. The Fleurs du Vent cuvée comes from plots of land covered by trade winds, protected from humidity by them. This arid climate is what gives this agricultural rum its amber colour. A beautiful golden colour resulting from 13 months' ageing in new and ex-Bourbon oak barrels, this rum reveals notes of narcissus, exotic flowers and coconut. On the palate, there's a slight hint of balsamic with notes of spice, offering complexity and great depth.
