This Cornas “Les Grandes Terrasses” Paul Ainé Jaboulet, a 100% Syrah, owes its name to the very steep terraces supported by low walls and overlooking the Rhône Valley. Yields are 30 to 35hl / ha. 12 months in oak barrels, 20% of which is new wood.

The Cornas appellation is located on the right bank of the Rhône to the northwest of the city of Valence. Corans is made up of steep hillsides (75% of the surface, up to 400m above sea level), plateaus and hillsides for the rest.
Cornas in Celtic means "scorched earth". Exposed to the south and southeast and protected from the north winds by the Arlettes massif (north of the appellation), the appellation is the warmest and earliest of the northern Côtes du Rhône. It is also characterized by amphitheatres with numerous terraces (chaillées = low walls).
