Château Bouscassé Vendémiaire 2019 is a sweet white wine from the south west of the Pacherenc-du-Vic-Bilh appellation.
This sweet white wine is made from 100% Petit Manseng grapes. It is a late harvest insofar as it takes place in October, which explains the name of the wine: Vendémiaire. The grapes are naturally more concentrated in sugar. On tasting, we liked the notes of candied fruit and gingerbread, as well as the overall freshness of this wine.
Description
This sweet white wine from Château Bouscassé Vendémiaire 2019 is produced in the Pacherenc-du-Vic-Bilh region of south-west France. This sweet white wine is made from 100% Petit Manseng grapes. The harvest takes place later, in October. This is due to the phenomenon of passerillage, which results in grapes with a higher concentration of sugar, due to the alternation of sunny days and cool nights, which encourages the dehydration of the grapes on the vine.
This sweet wine has a lovely golden colour. The nose offers notes of candied fruit and gingerbread.
The palate is smooth, rich and lively. We liked the notes of exotic fruit, honey and apricot.
Château Bouscassé is run by Alain Brumont, who is also the winemaker behind Madiran Montus.
