Description
Mac Carthy 2022 Saint-Estèphe is often mistakenly considered to be the second wine of Château Haut Marbuzet. This magnum wine is vinified as such by the Duboscq family, so it is ready to be enjoyed before Château Haut Marbuzet.
This very fine Saint-Estèphe red wine has fresh, lively notes of blackberry, tobacco and dark chocolate. On the palate, it is both smooth and powerful, with a round, pleasant texture. Black fruit flavours dominate, giving a sensation of richness and depth. Notes of tobacco and dark chocolate add a touch of complexity, while the elegant tannins provide a balanced structure. The finish is long and elegant.
Mac Carthy 2022 is a blend of several of the region's traditional grape varieties, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The Cabernet Sauvignon brings black fruit aromas and structure, while the Merlot adds red fruit notes and a touch of roundness. The Cabernet Franc contributes complexity and length on the palate.
