Description

This Japanese Kanosuke Single Malt 2022 Cask Strength whiskey is produced from barley grown near the distillery on the Island of Kuyshu. A yeast specific to the distillery starts the process which leads to this exceptional single malt. The triple distillation takes place in 3 stills of different shapes. this particularity gives this whiskey its “complete” character, so to speak.

for this edition it was then aged in Sherry barrels, for previous editions the choice was on rice Shochu barrels (for the first) then Bourbon barrels (for the second)

The tasting is a great moment, you will love the beautiful, slightly pink color.

The nose is very balanced (hence the expression "complete" used above), it evokes vegetal notes, floral notes, minerality, fruity notes and spicy notes, the spectrum is almost complete, all in a very harmonious and complementary way.

The palate is fruity and sweet, notes of red fruits present themselves initially before giving way to notes of cocoa and mokka, the finish is elegant and woody, the sherry cask is fully expressed.
