Akashi Whisky Meisei Deluxe Sherry Cask Finish Japanese Whisky

This whisky is distilled by hand at the Eigashima distillery in Japan. This whisky distillery was founded in 1984 and is fully inspired by Scottish distilleries with a small production. The climate in the town of Akashi plays a major role, with large temperature differences between winter and summer, which speeds up the ageing process.

Akashi Meïsei Deluxe Whisky

Each Akashi whisky has its own unique ageing process. The Akashi Meïsei Deluxe is aged in old American bourbon barrels for 3 years, followed by 1 year in oloroso sherry casks. Akashi is made from 50% malted wheat barley distilled twice in a pot still. When you taste it, you'll discover its gourmet side, with aromas of vanilla, honey, chocolate, orange zest and cinnamon. On the palate, the woody side comes through thanks to its barrel ageing, and dried fruit is also present, with a few spicy and nutty notes on the finish.
