ROBERT BURNS Highlands Arran Single Malt Scotch Whiskey.

The ARRAN ROBERT BURNS Malt Whiskey is a whiskey from Arran. Arran only has one and only distillery located in Lochranza. It was created in 1995 thanks to Harold Currie, a former executive director of Chivas whiskeys who then moved to Pernod Ricard. The Arran distillery has only been authorized to name whiskey the fruit of its production since 1998. Due to lack of space, part of the production is stored in the cellars of Springbank. The whiskeys of Arran are unpeated, slightly influenced by the marine proximity with iodized and saline notes. The structure is supple and hints of fruit are felt. The more time passes, the more Arran tries out different finishes which each time so far really add something. For history, in the 19th century the elders say that there were nearly fifty all clandestine distilleries, the isolation of the island making any control difficult. The production of whiskey from Arran was then as sought after as the scotches from the Glenlivet distillery were. Arran whiskey is sometimes used in the composition of blends such as Robert Burns and Loch Ranza. The Isle of Arran is nicknamed mini Scotland, it is an exceptional place to visit where all the Scottish landscapes are found in a small area. The Isle of Arran served as a model for RG the father of Tintin to create his famous Black Island.
