Renowned as the best Irish whiskey in the world for its perfect balance and Scotch whisky-like complexity. Redbreast is often referred to as the nectar of Ireland. In 1966, John Jameson & Son decided to combine the whiskey companies John Power & Son and Cork Distillers company to form Irish Distillers Ltd. which is now a subsidiary of the Pernod-Ricard group. Production was brought together at the Midleton distillery in Cork in a brand new building, which is now the most modern distillery in the world. The distillery's historic former building has been transformed into a museum. The Jameson Heritage Centre is a large complex reminiscent of bygone days. This Georgian stone building with red shutters was the birthplace of Barry Crockett, who is currently the manager of the Midleton distillery.

Tasting Redbreast 12 Year Old Cask Strength Irish Whiskey

The nose is fruity, spicy and woody. Hints of dried apricots and figs come through. On the palate, the spiciness comes out first, accompanied by hints of fruit and vanilla. The finish is long and complex, with notes of fruit and spice. This is a cask-aged version of the Still Redbreast 12 Year Old Single Pot from the permanent range. It is aged in Bourbon casks and bottled without chill filtering.
