Renowned as the best Irish whiskey in the world for its perfect balance and Scotch whisky-like complexity. Redbreast is often referred to as the nectar of Ireland. In 1966, John Jameson & Son decided to combine the whiskey companies John Power & Son and Cork Distillers company to form Irish Distillers Ltd. which is now a subsidiary of the Pernod-Ricard group. Production was brought together at the Midleton distillery in Cork in a brand new building, which is now the most modern distillery in the world. The distillery's historic former building has been transformed into a museum. The Jameson Heritage Centre is a large complex reminiscent of bygone days. This Georgian stone building with red shutters was the birthplace of Barry Crockett, who is currently the manager of the Midleton distillery.

Tasting Redbreast 15 Year Old Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey

The colour is a pretty gold with old gold highlights. The first scents to appear are cereal, lime, camomile and curry. Then red fruit makes its entrance, followed by vanilla, spices and candied fruit. The palate is sparkling and lively. The fruit notes return, as do the vegetal notes of green wood and ylang-ylang. Accompanied by the frangipane and gingerbread that offer consistency. The finish is long and slightly tannic.
