This Bergerie de l'Hortus has a deep ruby color, with purplish reflections. The nose is made of stewed fruit, violet, sweet spices and scents of garrigue. The aromatic expression is dominated by aromas of violet, licorice, garrigue, with a hint of mint on the finish for this hortus estate wine. Grape varieties: Syrah 60%, Grenache 20%, Mourvèdre 20%. This wine will ideally accompany poultry, white meats and andouillette. The Domaine de l'Hortus is located on the heights of the Montpellier hinterland, in the Languedoc region, near Pic Saint Loup and Mont Hortus .. The Domaine de l'Hortus is one of the emblematic areas of the Coteaux du Languedoc appellation and has made the reputation of the Pic St Loup. The Orliac family dared a bet that many considered crazy in the early 90s, but this area of 50 hectares of northeast-facing limestone turns out to be a marvel.
