GLENMORANGIE 10 Years Old Highlands Single Malt Scotch Whiskey
Description
The Glenmorangie Distillery is an institution of the United Kingm. Of the 10 million bottles produced, around 6 million are sold in the UK. We can say that it is the benchmark Single Malt of the British. Glenmorangie, Eastern Highlands distillery began its distillery activity in 1843, the first 2 stills purchased second-hand were intended for the manufacture of Gin. With their 8 meters and a 3-meter pass Glenmorangie claims to have the highest stills in Scotland, which Bruichladdich refutes. It is played a few centimeters ... The height of these stills allows the production of a light, flexible Single Malt. Water from the Tarlogie spring, rich in minerals, is the second element that gives Glenmorangie its specificity. During the 1990s, the distillery acquired around 600 acres of land around the distillery to control the quality of the water it draws. Glenmorangie has been owned since 2004 by LVMH and Diageo, the upmarket shareholder policy implies that 100% of production is sold in Glenmorangie bottles. The production of the fabulous BNJ blend (Baillie Nicol & Jarvie) is therefore no longer possible. Human intervention is crucial in the manufacturing process of a Glenmorangie bottle, the distillation being carried out by the "Sixteen men of Tain". Then maturation is entrusted to the team led by Mr Lumsden who is at the origin of the aging program in different "Extra Matured" barrels such as Port, Sherry, Sauternes or even red wines. This program is so central to Glenmoragnie's development and differentiation strategy that the distillery now owns its oak forest in Missouri. The barrels produced in the USA dry for 2 years before being rented to Heaven Hill or Jack Daniel's then cross the Atlantic then welcome Glenmorangie.
The GLENMORANGIE 10 years old the Original 70 cl is a whiskey from the Highlands, lands renowned as well for its whiskeys, with the largest region in terms of scotch whiskey production, as for its Highlanders Games or its famous Loch Ness. In the Highlands, a region in the north of Scotland, you will find whiskeys of a breathtaking diversity, since under the same regional name 30 distilleries coexist, with styles as different as the whiskeys of the islands, with the exception of Islay (Jura, Skyes ...), whiskeys from the fertile plains of the West, whiskeys from mountainous areas like Ben Nevis, and whiskeys from the north like Old Pulteney and Glenmorangie. This is why the Highlands region has been subdivided into 4 production regions which are Eastern Highlands, Central Highlands, Western Highlands and Northern Highlands.
This whiskey is a Single Malt. To be a Single Malt, a whiskey must obey 2 essential rules. The whiskey be produced in a single distilleriece which gives the Single, then be made only from malted cereals: the Malt. The malted cereal must be barley but under exceptional conditions it is possible to use rye. Scotland is the biggest single malt producer. These are then Scotch Single Malt Whiskey, but there are other nations, for example Japan, India, the Czech Republic or France which also distill Single Malts. The conditions are always the same, the whiskey must come from one and the same distillery and the cereal used must be malted barley.
This GLENMORANGIE 10 years the Original 70 cl has floral notes that evoke touches of fresh flowers such as heather, violet, orange blossom, rose or lavender. These notes are very subtle and the quality and the number of distillations directly influence the perception of these very fine aromas. Notes of perfumes such as incense are also perceptible carried by the more oily, heavier elements of this GLENMORANGIE 10 years old the Original 70 cl.
This GLENMORANGIE 10 years the Original 70 cl is fruity, which evokes a notion of lightness in the aromas and its flavor in the mouth. The yeasts used have an essential role in the final result and in general, as long as a whiskey is neither peaty, nor smoked, nor iodized, then fruit aromas appear. The main families of fruits are white fruits such as peaches, pears and apples, red fruits, citrus fruits but also dried fruits such as walnuts and fresh hazelnuts.
