Originally from the Beaujolais region, this peach with its red flesh and juice was once eaten with wine at the end of the harvest.
It is now mainly grown on the hillsides to the west of Lyon.

Born in 1965 into a farming family, Alain Milliat set up and ran a fruit orchard in Orliénas (in the Lyon countryside) for fifteen years. He specialised in the production of 'zero-defect' cherries for his Parisian customers. Then, in 1998, he developed several fruit nectars, including vine peach nectar, which was immediately adopted by Relais et Châteaux sommeliers.
