Whisky from the Giraud family!
Giraud has been a family of coopers and cellar masters since 1875. In 1910, Giraud joined a cognac house to age its eaux-de-vie. Alfred Giraud (his son) and André Giraud (his grandson) succeeded him as cellar masters until 1990. These 2 generations continued the know-how, until Philippe Giraud (a renowned Scotch whisky producer) joined in 1995 to create "Alfred Giraud French Malt Whisky" in order to honour his heritage and pass it on to future generations.
Tasting this Alfred Giraud Héritage French Whisky
To begin with, the nose is complex, but balanced and classy thanks to the wood from the old cognac casks, with a clean, balanced palate combining power and roundness with flavours of pear and candied fruit. A very smooth finish.
