Description
Do you know Fortin Heroica Paraguay Rum?
On the nose, a nougatine and caramel aroma. A nice roundness is respected, which makes you want to taste more. A very rich rum without excess, accompanied by candied cane, caramelised and coated in sweet spices. Aeration enhances the roasted notes. The palate is well-balanced, the attack doubled by a hint of wood and fruit. Dried fruit settles on the tongue, like a light agricultural rum. Cane and a hint of grey pepper add flavour to the palate. The finish is accompanied by notes of vanilla and caramel.
Presentation of the Castilla distillery
The Diaz family founded the distillery we know today in Piribebuy, Paraguay, in 1993. The same year also saw the end of the state monopoly on spirits in this South American country, which shares its borders with Brazil, Bolivia and Argentina. Fortin rums are made completely organically, and are also the country's best-known spirit. Castilla was named best distillery in the world in 2015.
