Where does Dzama rum with cognac finish come from?

A true discovery of the Indian Ocean, this rum comes from Nosy Be, a small island on the coast of Madagascar in the Mozambique Channel. Its rich terroir produces complex, fine elixirs. The island grows mainly sugar cane, but also clove trees, pepper and perfume plants. With this terroir and ancestral Madagascan know-how, Madagasgar Rum is a drink that is widely consumed on the island but still little known by the rest of the world, so don't hesitate to discover it.

How is Dzama 5 Year Old made?

Once the juice has been extracted from the cane, it is traditionally fermented before being distilled in stainless steel vats. It is then aged in 2 stages, first in oak casks for its roasted, vanilla flavour and then in oak casks that have contained cognac to add roundness.

How to serve this Madagascar amber rum?

Ideal as an aperitif and digestive, it will surprise you with its finesse and complexity. The first scents are vanilla, coffee, liquorice and caramel.

On the palate, the caramel, vanilla sugar and nougat come back, blended with sweet spices.
