The Bosteels Brewery

The Bosteels brewery was founded in 1791 by Jean Baptiste Bosteels. This family brewery is now in its 7th generation. The Belgian brewery enjoyed real success after the release of the famous Triple Karmeliet beer in 1993, a recipe from the Carmelite abbey dating back to 1679 that has been brought up to date. The Bosteels brewery also created the famous Kwak amber beer in the 1980s.

Tripel Karmeliet Belgian beer

Tripel Karmeliet is a Belgian beer brewed from 3 different grains: wheat, oats and barley. Each of the 3 cereals brings its own personality to the beer, whether it's the colour of the barley, the lightness of the wheat or the silky texture of the oats. Once served, karmeliet triple reveals an attractive golden colour with an intense white head. The nose reveals aromas of vanilla, spices and citrus fruit. On the palate, karmeliet is appreciated for its light spicy and cereal notes. It has a silky, well-balanced texture, with a sensation of freshness on the palate.
