Puech Haut Cuvée Tete de Belier red Coteaux du Languedoc Wine

Description

The color of this Tete de Belier Puech Haut is an intense garnet red, the nose is marked by notes of ripe black berries and develops on more candied and spicy notes supported by a well-melted oak. The palate of this great red Coteaux du Languedoc wine  is intense, generous, complex. The aromatic palette is wide, red fruit, spices (liquorice, pepper), woody (toast). The finish of the Puech Haut ram head is delicious with a well-integrated oak and velvety tannins. The whole is well balanced, powerful and elegant that we can appreciate now or in fifteen years. The wine is aged 18 months in barrels. The yield is 25hl / ha, the harvest is sorted and destemmed. The vinification is done in wooden vats, the grape varieties are separated and the maceration varies between 35 to 50 days. This gives a powerful and very extracted wine. The rams are at Puech-Haut what the sheep is at Rothschild. Ornamental stone of a 12th century chapel found during the colossal works undertaken at the Castle, the ram head becomes the symbol of Puech-Haut with obviousness. A marriage of strength and gentleness, the two majestic animals with rounded horns adorn the Château Puech-Haut and crown the skins with endearing power.
