This is what is done with this type of whisky, which is a blend of whiskies from several different origins. The blend is made from whiskies of several cereals, from malt from different distilleries or of different ages. In the beginning, the major brands of blended whiskies were English wine and spirits distributors who blended a number of Scotch whiskies according to their own recipes. Blends can be found all over the world, in regions as diverse as Japan and Ireland. Although it is a blend, certain blends are still sought after across the globe because of their premium quality.

It has a lightness of aroma and flavour on the palate. The yeasts used play an essential role in the final result, and generally speaking, as soon as a whisky is not peaty, smoky or iodised, fruit aromas appear. The main fruit families are white-fleshed fruits such as peaches, pears and apples, red fruits, citrus fruits and dried fruits such as hazelnuts and almonds.

Perfect Peat Blended Scotch Whisky is smoky. This aspect is closely linked to the grains of barley dried over a peat fire in the kiln at the end of the malting process. Peat gives off a lot of smoke when it burns (the reek), and these phenol particles attach themselves to the barley grains and are released into the wash during the first brewing.

Perfect Peat Blended Scotch Whisky is peaty, not to be mixed with smoky notes with similar characteristics, because of their origin. Peat, a fuel produced by the decomposition of plant matter, burns more than it burns. As it burns, it gives off a lot of smoke. This drying process imparts a smoky flavour to the barley grains at the end of the malting process before brewing. The peaty flavour also comes from the Lochs water used, which flows over peat-laden river beds. The peat gives this Perfect Peat Blended Scotch Whisky empyreumatic aromas such as the smell of a chimney, ashes and tar, as well as spices such as liquorice and cloves, and medicinal aromas such as camphor and eucalyptus.
