L.N. MATTEI is an old family story, born of shopkeepers who have been in business for 150 years. Their original recipes and unrivalled know-how have made it possible to produce some incredibly great products, true creations. In 1872, Louis Napoléon Mattei decided to open the first L.N. Mattei distillery in the heart of Bastia. And so began a magnificent adventure in the heart of the island of beauty.
LN Mattei tasting and its characteristics
The composition of this complex spirit is based on Muscat and Vermentinu grapes harvested in Corsica. It is then macerated with cinchona bark, to which are added plants, fruit and local spices, not forgetting Corsican citron. Its intense character makes it slightly bitter and citrusy. On tasting, its colour is beautifully clear, with a muscular nose and citrus notes. Orange blossom and a hint of bitterness on the palate.
