Description
Don Papa Gayuma Rum is known for its unique aging process, and this version has undergone a series of distinctive maturation steps. It first aged for three years in Bourbon barrels and then spent six months in Spanish Rioja wine casks under intense heat, which accelerates the interaction between the rum and the wood. Finally, it rested for three months in Scotch whisky casks from the Islay region.
Upon tasting, this exquisite rum showcases an intense and deep amber color. The nose reveals subtle peaty notes, a signature of its last aging stage. As you continue, hints of vanilla and spices emerge delicately. In the mouth, flavors of vanilla and cinnamon become more pronounced, followed by clove and cocoa. The finish is refreshingly crisp, featuring notes of mint and citrus with a touch of smokiness.
