Description
Irish Single Malt Whiskey WATERFORD Cuvee ARGOT. This version of Waterford can be considered somewhat like what a second wine is to a Bordeaux grand cru. It has "everything" of its big brother "The Cuvee," just a bit less intense and pronounced. Nonetheless, it remains a superb Irish Whiskey. It offers complexity in aromatics with a hint of peat. Waterford Cuvee Argot is an assembly of four types of high-quality casks (ex-bourbon casks, ex-new American oak casks, ex-French oak casks, ex-sweet fortified wine casks).
Under these conditions, you get a whiskey with a nose that evokes vegetal notes followed by dried fruits like almonds, orange peel, baked apple, and spices. On the palate, the spicy notes are clearly defined with hints of pepper and paprika. Then, fruity notes emerge, mixed with cereal notes. You instantly think of homemade granola. The finish is long, slightly smoky, and peaty.
