Description
Filliers Distillery, an iconic Belgian distillery, offers a single malt that is 100% sherry cask matured. It is this aspect that contributes to its cost, given that the distillate is produced by Filliers. The distillery's expertise is well-established, but the art of aging in sherry casks is still in the discovery phase for them.
The result is very convincing. The whisky has a beautiful clear amber color. The nose is characterized by sherry, along with fresh floral notes and hints of dried fruits like almonds, hazelnuts, and dried orange peel.
The palate confirms the impressions from the nose. Spicy notes and hints of salted caramel pleasantly complement the profile.
The finish is very long, with floral and pastry notes lingering.
Without a doubt, Filliers Distillery offers a very fine 10-year-old single malt aged in sherry casks.
