Description
The Kyoto Miyako Distillery offers us a bourbon-style version of their Japanese blended whisky. The nose is distinctly vanilla, and the palate is equally woody and vanilla, with hints of dried fruits. The finish is long and confirms notes of raisins and sweet spices, including vanilla and a touch of cinnamon.
The Kyoto Miyako Distillery, located to the northwest of the city, is ideally situated along the Yura River in a sparsely populated area not conducive to agriculture. As a result, the water used is of exceptional purity. The distillery boasts two stills, each used in a unique way. One is dedicated to the first distillation, and the other to the second distillation. The first still is a long-necked swan-necked design, while the other is shorter and rounder in shape.
