Whiskey Togouchi Whiskey aged in Japan
Togouchi is a whiskey blend offered by the traditional Japanese distillery Chugoku Jozo
Chugoku Jozo has been distilling fruit liqueurs, shochu and sake since 1918. The whiskey offered is not strictly speaking a Japanese whiskey since it is not distilled in Japan. The whiskeys are imported immediately after their distillation in Scotland and Canada, then are placed in oak barrels placed for 8 years and more, well sheltered in a tunnel of 400 meters where the temperature and humidity are constant.
The Chugoku Jozo distillery is in a way a "breeder-assembler" of Togouchi whiskeys
The Japanese touch is very real since the water used to reduce the alcohol level of Blend Tougouchi to the degree desired by the master blender is drawn from the springs of Sandankyo Park in the heart of the mountains of Nishi Chugoku Sanchi on the island of Honshu
