The Glen Moray Distillery in Speyside was originally a brewery before in 1897 it became a whiskey distillery in Eglin in the Moray region. Like many distilleries she used the Glenlivet suffix to denote a style because The Glenlivet was then the great reference for distilleries in Scotland, but it has nothing to do with The Glenlivet.
The style of single malts at Whiskey Glen Moray is above all lightness and elegance, woody and vanilla notes and fruity notes. At a time when whiskeys of this style were no longer too fashionable, Glen Moray tried his hand at finishing in different casks. A slightly peaty version has emerged in recent years.
