Grézan Château Faugères

Château de Grézan a historical monument in Faugères

The Château de Grézan was rebuilt by the Mirepoix family from 1824. This castle in the region of Faugères has been listed since 1993 on the list of French Historical Monuments. Its particularity is that it is the only castle of neo-medieval inspiration. It is a "mini city of Carcassonne". This castle evokes the entire history of the region, the pilgrims of Compostela, the Templars, the Crusades ...

The Faugères terroir is dominated by schists, located 20 km north of Béziers, on the foothills of the Cévennes massif. The 4 main grape varieties are Grenache, Syrah, Carignan and Mourvèdre for the reds and rosés.
