"The" Alphonse Mellot who currently runs the house is none other than the 19th Alphonse Mellot ..., he always benefits from the advice of his father, Alphonse Mellot ... (the 18th of the name!) And his sister Emmanuelle .
The hallmark of Alphonse Mellot's Sancerres are incomparable freshness and great accuracy of aromas due to precise and rigorous vinification. The domain extends over 30 hectares around the Moussière which is the only Sancerre to benefit from a mention "Hors Concours" in the Sancerre appellation.
The red wines are made from Pinot Noir and the white wines from Sauvignon. The harvests of a small yield are carried out manually at perfect maturity.
At Alphonse Mellot the vines in Sancerre are grown organically and biodynamically
