Did you know that Calvados obtained the AOC in 1942 ?

However, a simplification of the appellation in 1984 recognized 3 major production areas. Calvados, Calvados Pays d'Auge and Calvados Domfrontais. Calvados comes from the distillation (single or double) of cider obtained from apples from Normandy. The Pays d'Auge Calvados comes from apples from the Pays d'Auge. Calvados Domfrontais has the particularity of coming from apples from Domfrontais, but also from pears (for a minimum of 30%) .A great representative of Domfrontais is Calvados Lemorton. You will also find in our selection the houses Château du Breuil, Boulard and its Grand Solage as well as the Verrier house.
