The Jura vineyard is best known for its white wines (still and sparkling) which go so well with the cuisine and Jura cheeses such as Comté. This vineyard stretches over a hundred km in the Jura department.
A main grape variety for Jura red wines: Poulsard
As far as the red wines of the Jura are concerned, the king grape variety is Poulsard (80% of red production) which gives aromatic and clear wines, then comes Trousseau, the other characteristic grape variety of red Jura, and finally Pinot Noir, a neighbor of Burgundy, which brings its power, completes the range of grape varieties authorized for the production of Jura red wine.
