The Balbair Distillery is not the most famous distillery in this part of Scotland located in the north of the Highlands. Other prestigious neighbors like Glenmorangie attract more visitors. Balbair has long been a distillery providing premium malts for the great Blend houses. In the 1990s, Balbair's first single malts saw the light of day, and something rare enough to be noted, Balbair only offers vintage whiskeys. The origin of the name of Balbair would come from the Gaëlique meaning "Battlefield" by referring to the Homeric battles that were fought Vikings and Pictes. Balbair is perfect for novices in whiskeys thanks to its classic fruity and floral style, without peat or iodine and with fine and discreet oak.
