The island of Barbados is a volcanic island with the majority of the soil being limestone, this offers ideal conditions to produce beautiful sugar cane. Barbados was occupied by England in 1627 who introduced cane cultivation there in 1637, and rum has been produced there since 1642. The Mont Gay Distillery is the oldest distillery in the world it seems. Barbados' 3 historic distilleries are: Cockspur, Foursquare and Mount Gay. We offer the following brands, Mount Gay, Doorly's Cockspur, Foursquare, Nation Rum, Plantation Rum, Seale's which are rums of British Tradition.
