Guyana produces rums similar to Caribbean rums

Historically Guyana has been the supplier of sugar to the British Isles. It's funny to know that the term "Demerara Sugar" from the name of the Demerara River that flows in Georgetown means brown sugar in English. Unique to Guyana rums, they are identified by initials still in use today: AN for Albion (name of the plantation where the canes come from) or PM for Port Morant (name of a town and Type of distillation in a double wooden still)
