Rum grog
The Grog is to be stored in the box of the good remedies of Grandmothers.
He is known to pass a bad cold. Hot water, rum and lemon juice, go to bed, take a good sweat, and the common cold is over. There are variants with citrus fruits, cognac replaces rum etc ... There are variants but only one origin. The grog comes to us from an admiral of the English navy, Sir Edward Vernon. His crew received a daily ration of rum and got drunk with it (delicate in the event of a collision). In order to limit the rum consumption of his sailors, he had the idea of diluting the rum in hot water for 1/4 of rum and 3/4 of water).
