The Pommeau de Normandie is the origin of apples and then cider brandy (Calvados or Eau de Vie de Bretagne) define the origin. The Pommeau is considered an aperitif even if it is also commonly consumed with desserts. A Pommeau is the result of a blend of fresh apple juice and Calvados (or Lambig de Bretagne). The proportion of the blend is 2/3 apple juice for 1/3 cider brandy. Cider brandy (Calvados or Lambig de Bretagne) must have aged at least 2 years previously.
