Floc de Gascogne
Floc de Gascogne is to be classified in the family of Liqueur wines
It is the result of an ancestral recipe which combines 2/3 of fresh grape juice of the year with 1/3 of young Armagnac. Floc de Gascogne has benefited from an AOC since 1990. It exists in two colors, Floc de Gascogne White and Floc de Gascogne Rosé (also called red because sometimes it seems more red than rosé ..). Just like Armagnac from which it is a derivative, Floc de Gascogne only occurs in 3 French departments, Le Gers for 80% then the East of the Landes and the lower Lot et Garonne. Floc de Gascogne must rest for at least 10 months after bottling before being marketed. this period is necessary for the marriage of aromas and textures. UBY but also Tariquet offer Flocs but it is above all Jean Cavé who is the leader in this appellation.
