The great mastery of cider distillation naturally led Mr Guy Le Lay to take a close interest in the distillation of French whiskey. His master stroke was to take an interest in Black Wheat, otherwise called buckwheat which is the ingredient of one of the wonders of Brittany, La Galette !!!
In 2002, the first bottles of Breton Eddu Whiskey saw the light of day and the success has never wavered.
Guy Le Lay's children still run this beautiful family business.
