Pinot Gris Alsace Wine

Pinot Gris has long been named Tokay Pinot Gris

A legend attributes to Hungary the origin of the grape Pinot Gris while obviously this variety comes from Burgundy. Since 2007 Tokay is reserved for Hungarian wines from the Tokaji region. In this great movement of reordering, the appellation Porto has returned exclusively to Portugal and the appellation Champagne is only used by wines from the Champagne region in France.

An Alsace Pinot Gris offers fruity aromas reminiscent of peach and apricot and aromas of dried fruit such as almonds or hazelnuts. These wines have a real aging potential and are offered in dry wine or mellow wine. Generally a Pinot Gris from Alsace is well balanced between freshness, structure and roundness.
